Performance Synopsis
Narimasa Sassa was a warlord with the genuine heart of a samurai.
In the last stage of the warring states period, during which the country was almostentirely dominated by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, he decided to visit Ieyasu Tokugawa, seeking his help in revolting against Hideyoshi.
Narimasa, who was a faithful vassal of Nobunaga Oda, undertook the Sarasaragoe journey with his retainers in the severe weather of winter to show his loyalty and indomitable spirit.
During the difficult crossing of the Northern Japan Alps, Lady Sayuri appeared to Narimasa in a vision and directed him to Omachi. Thus, Narimasa’s party was able to reach Omachi.
